During summer it is good to keep them outdoors in the half shadow. It is also good not to keep them in the direct sun. Easter cacti want to be regularly watered and fertilized and they dont want to dry out. To stand in the wet should be avoided. From November to January and about 4 weeks after flowering they ought to be watered less, otherwise normally with luke warm water. the buds come up after 6-8 weeks at 8-10°C (winter). Then the temperature should be raised slowly up to 20°C. During a winter period at more than 15°C no buds will come up. Even during summer they can get buds and flowers. Buds are thrown off if the plants dry up, if they don`t have enough fertilizer or if they are in too much of a draught.
